So many celebs graced the red carpet at the 38th Annual American Music Awards 2010 which was held at the Nokia Theater L.A Live on the 21st November 2010 in Los Angeles, California.
I always love blogging about the award ceremonies as you get to see an array of fantastic outfits from classic and sexy to outrageous and bold. Each celeb has their own style and they show it with the dresses they choose to wear. I have put together a whole blog post of my favourite outfits from the event and I have listed what designers creations they were wearing for the night. I haven’t yet seen the AMA’s as it hasn’t been shown here in England yet. I am keeping a watchful eye on MTV as it looked amazing!

Miley Cyrus looked absolutely divine in a white flowing dress by Marchesa which she paired with Christian Louboutin Maralena heels and Niel Lane jewellery. I think this look is perfect for her! It makes her look so classy and angelic at the same time. The train on the dress is stunning.
I almost didn’t recognise Taylor Swift here with her hair being straight. She looks so much more grown up! Taylor was shining in a Collette Dinnigan studded and embellished dress which she finished off with Jimmy Choo heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. What do you think of her look here?
This was Taylor Swift’s second outfit of the night. She chose to wear an all black ensemble which consisted of a pair of Citizens of Humanity black Avedon skinny jeans, a Helmut Lang style glittery jacket, a Splendid top and a Amrapali ring. Taylor chose to wear a pair of patent black brogues with the outfit as well. She looks just as good here with her hair up and straight as she does with it down. This outfit is classy!
Rihanna posed on the red carpet in a red lace and velvet combination long sleeved gown by Elie Saab from her Fall/Winter 2010 collection. Rihanna also chose to wear Christian Louboutin shoes with Neil Lane jewels. I am assuming that she has nude coloured underwear on because the dress is completely sheer.
Katy Perry looked very girly and cute in a Badgley Mischka Couture cream embellished dress which she wore with Brian Atwood heels, a Brumani bracelet and Pink Tourmaline and Pave earrings by Vram for Gray. I love this outfit on her, it’s so pretty! She’s such a natural beauty.
Ke$ha looked so futuristic and fierce on the 2010 AMA’s red carpet! She wore a black ripped custom made dress with a deep plunging neck line. Ke$ha also accessorized her look with studded eyebrows and a big mohawk. I’m not normally a fan of her outrageous looks but I think she actually looks really good here. It’s not too over the top!
Jessica Alba chose a more slick and classic look in a black Cushnie et Ochs asymmetrical dress which she paired with Aandra Neen jewels and a bag and Christian Louboutin heels. This isn’t one of my favourite looks from her but she looks different to how she normally does at events, so I like it.
Fergie wore two different outfits during the night. The first was this Falguni & Shane peacock embellished and fringe detailed dress which she wore with Ruthie Davis Spikette shoes, a Rene Caovilla clutch and Loree Rodkin jewellery. I absolutely adore this dress! I think it’s so fun and pretty! I love it.
This was Fergie’s second outfit of the night. She wore a silver and grey embellished robot style dress by Zuhair Murad which she accessorized with Rene Caovilla grey Swarovski crystal platforms. I also love this outfit on her! It’s so sparkly. I don’t know which dress I prefer though, maybe the first one, if I had to choose.
Avril Lavigne wore an optical illusion print dress by Dolce & Gabbana which she wore with a Lori Rodkin ring, Gwyneth B bracelets, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and a Jimmy Choo clutch. I always find Avril’s style to be more on the boyish side so it’s no surprise to me that she kept it a little more punkish.
Mandy Moore wore a long sleeve tapestry style dress from designer Matthew Williamson. Mandy also chose to wear Jimmy Choo heels and Dana Rebecca earrings to finish off the outfit. I love the metallic shine to this dress at the top half and I think Mandy looks simply beautiful here.
Heidi Klum took to the red carpet in a floor length Victorian style, black lace, sheer dress with a velvet waist belt. I am unsure on the designer of this dress but I think she wears it well. I would have preferred something else on Heidi, maybe something more slimming and figure hugging but if this dress was going to be worn by anyone, Heidi definitely was the celeb to pick. She can rock anything! Her hair and drop earrings look stunning as well.
Nicki Minaj went to the extremes with her outfit! I thought Ke$ha’s was bold, but this one is even more out there! She wore a sleeveless and heavily embellished metal and colourful dress by Manish Arora. Nicki opted for a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and green tipped hair to finish off the look. This dress reminds me of something from Spiderman, it looks like it has a ribcage but it also reminds me of an octopus. It’s definitely daring!
Sheryl Crow wore a Paisley/Ethnic Print Autumn tone halterneck maxi dress to the AMA’s 2010. Again, I am unsure on the designer behind this gown but she definitely looks good in it. It could be a little more flattering around the bust area in my opinion but Sheryl definitely accessorized her look well with the clutch and jewellery.
Isn’t Christina Milian’s dress stunning? I don’t know who designed this stunning little number but it’s definitely beautiful! I love the sequins on it, it reminds me of Christmas and she looks so pretty! If anyone could pull this look off, it would be Christina! I love everything about the whole outfit, right down to the finishing touches!
Whitney Port wore a chic off the shoulder chiffon dress in purple and white tones which she paired with grey heels and a purple waist belt. The cut of this dress is really nice. It’s shaped well and it fits Whitney’s body perfectly. I would like it to be a bit more colourful but I guess that just adds to the chicness.
Jenny McCarthy wore an asymmetrical sequined blue and silver dress by Stella McCartney. She opted to finish off her look with a pair of glitter Christian Louboutin heels. Jenny looks fantastic I think! I love the shine and the glitz of this dress. I love to see sequined dresses on the red carpet!
Wow! Doesn’t Karina Smirnoff look amazing? That dress is incredible! I can’t find out who the designer is but she looks fantastic! I love the gold and black sequin combination in the swirl patterns. It’s so flattering! Having the dress backless is also a really nice touch. Everything about this look is so pretty!
Julie Benz went for a more metallic look on the red carpet of the AMA’s 2010. She chose to wear a one shouldered black dress which she finished off with a gold belt and a gold clutch with black and gold strappy sandals. She looks really pretty here and I think this combination is perfect for the season!
Keri Hilson wore a little black dress with toned down snake skin print on it. She looks really classy in this outfit. It’s subtle but it’s sexy at the same time. I love the little piece of draped fabric on the front of the dress too.
Julianne Hough looks absolutely demure! I love her hair in the ringlets and the laced body of this dress is so pretty! It reminds me a lot of an old Victorian style dress but it’s a much more modern take on the look. The net bottom is also a really nice touch! She finished off her look with Neil Lane jewellery and a cute clutch.
Kelly Osbourne took to the red carpet in the classic little black dress. This dress is a lot more fun than the normal styles as it has a lace print all over it and she wore it with aqua coloured jewellery and a crystal embellished clutch. Kelly is looking so much more healthy these days as well!
How amazingly gorgeous is this woman? Stana Katic wore a sequined pewter coloured dress with a plunging neckline by Oday Shakar. The dress is from the current Fall/Winter 2010 line. It’s so pretty! Stana has a killer body as well so she rocks this dress more beautifully than I could have ever imagined! The clutch and the heels just finish it off perfectly!
Jada Pinkett Smith reminds me of a Grecian Goddess in this gown by Pucci. I love the dark gold tones on this dress and she wore it really well with the ankle booties. The silhouette is also really beautiful. I couldn’t have picked a better dress for Jada if I had to pick myself!
Justin Bieber opted for one of his classic looks. A black leather jacket, black jeans and a black t-shirt. He even opted for black high tops instead of his usual brightly coloured ones. Justin looked really smart for the AMA’s but it always seems to me like he copies Usher with all of his award show outfits!
Usher posed for pictures in near enough the same outfit as Justin Bieber like I mentioned above. The only thing different is that Usher’s jeans are waxed and he was wearing boots instead. I think both guys look really smart and clean up well but maybe next time they can wear something different from each other.
And last but definitely not least, Michael Buble! He is one of my favourite male artists! I love his music and he always looks so sharp and handsome in his suits. This suit of his is no exception! It’s slim fitting just like the best suits should be and it fits his body perfectly. Michael always has great taste and I am glad he won an award!
Excellent post, must have taken you a long time.
I really like Christina Milan’s dress, definitely my favourite of those there.
Although Nicki Minaj’s dress deserves special mention, of only because it looks like a space age egyptian cross over.
